He's also the host of the political humor podcast "Abe Lincoln's Top Hat". In 2017 Ben conducted for Brooklyn Borough President together with the Reform Party, which he did not win, but there is always tomorrow! He's a political pundit with appearances on CNN, Fox News Network, HLN and a national radio host having labored on Sirius Radio and Fox News Radio. In 2015 as a political activist he managed to overturn an anti-cross grooming legislation in New Jersey. The Last Podcast about the Left is a weekly podcast featuring singer and comedian sponsor Ben Kissel, podcast producer and researcher Marcus Parks, and comedian and actor Henry Zebrowski (who combined in the third episode), most of whom are longtime friends. Released each Friday, the episodes are normally one hour in length, with the hosts investigating the horrors of the planet both real and imagined. Previous episodes have explored the subjects of serial killers, conspiracy theories, UFO sightings, ghosts, and readings of fan-submitted creepypastas. Kissel, Parks, and Zebrowski tour with live performances of the podcast and create The Last Stream on the Left, a live-streaming spinoff series about the Adult Swim site. From the post-Trump age, with a reality TV celebrity holding our country's highest office, tales such as Kissel's are becoming more prevalent -- droves of young people are becoming involved and seeking public office. On the one hand, the 2016 election showed us that applicants don't have to be capable to win. On the other, it was a rude awakening that the dissatisfied have to take politics. Input Ben Kissel. In his "day job," Kissel -- combined with co-hosts Marcus Parks and Henry Zebrowski -- hosts a true-crime-meets-paranormal comedy podcast. Last Podcast on the Left is rated second on iTunes' comedy chart and draws fans across the world. But like most dismayed young voters, Kissel took 2016 as a wake-up telephone to run for office. As someone who's been recorded in podcasts and around the radio for eight years, Kissel admits that a lot of individuals hesitate to run for office for fear of criticism or having their past vulnerable. His advice? Own it. After all, he says, everybody has their own past, and so long as you "deal with the Republicans with humanity and respect," voters can "accept each of the defects which go with that individual, as long as this person is ready to accept them." Much like the criminals he covers Last Podcast, Kissel says with a laugh, "lots of politicians are sociopaths with no ideology. Obviously not all of them, but we need the people who have scruples, morals, and are worried about their own failings." For somebody who confronts the worst of humankind with dark comedy in his day job, 6'7" tall Kissel really believes in the best of individuals. He believes in good intentions, sincerity, and salvation. These traits may seem just as odd in a true-crime aficionado since they do at a politician, but they're the same traits that give a youthful, non-politician the exceptional capability to serve the public. No matter what happens on Tuesday, Kissel says, there's no losing. "The very fact that we are on the ballot is incredible, which we're able to inspire people to run or participate in the political process -- that's a win. That's a gigantic triumph," he says. Kissel wants others to take heart in this message, too: "Losing is a significant fear for people, but who cares! Just get out there, and if you keep getting out, keep doing this in any field, you are gonna triumph." Continue Reading - Last Podcast On The Left Ben Kissel
